Lucky Baskhar, headlined by Dulquer Salmaan, hit theatres in 2024 and went on to receive a strong response. With a sequel already being planned, filmmaker Venky Atluri has now assured fans that Lucky Baskhar 2 will arrive soon.
Venky Atluri says Lucky Baskhar 2 is coming soon
Ahead of the release of I’m Game, Dulquer Salmaan and Venky Atluri came together for an interview, where they spoke about the much-awaited sequel. During the conversation, the Vaathi filmmaker confirmed that the second instalment is already being discussed and said, “As you finish all your commitments, I promise you, I’ll come with Lucky Baskhar 2 soon.”
Responding to this, Dulquer Salmaan said, “Soon? Wherever I go, people recognise me from the film, and they call me Baskhar.” Venky Atluri admitted that he is already feeling the responsibility of living up to the first film while also thanking Dulquer for trusting him with the original.
Dulquer further added, “You are the one filmmaker that I’ll work with again, whether it’s Lucky Baskhar 2 or even a fresh script.”

Lucky Baskhar is a black comedy heist drama featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary. Released in 2024, the film revolves around Baskhar, a middle-class family man who lives a simple life with his wife and son while shouldering responsibilities towards his siblings.
Baskhar begins his professional journey as a bank cashier and struggles to make ends meet. Burdened by debts and constantly dealing with moneylenders, he tries to keep his financial troubles under control. Following a deeply humiliating incident, he finds himself drawn into a world of financial crime, which eventually helps him overcome his debts. The story then explores Baskhar’s transformation as money and ambition begin to influence his life, while he attempts to escape the consequences of his choices.
The movie also features Tinnu Anand, P. Sai Kumar, Ramki, Raghu Babu, Maanasa Choudhary, Sarvadaman D. Banerjee, Kalyani, Sachin Khedekar, Kasi Viswanath, and others in important roles.
Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming project
Dulquer Salmaan will next be seen in I’m Game, directed by Nahas Hidayath. The action thriller also stars Antony Varghese Pepe, Kathir, Kayadu Lohar, and others. The film is scheduled to release theatrically on September 3, 2026.
