Allu Arjun is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Raaka, helmed by Atlee. With the actor’s future projects taking shape, a fresh meeting with filmmaker Basil Joseph in Mumbai has now sparked speculation that the two may be working together on Allu Arjun’s 24th film.
Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph meet again in Mumbai?
A new set of pictures shared by co-writer Arun Anirudhan has added fuel to the ongoing buzz around Allu Arjun and Basil Joseph’s possible collaboration. The filmmaker was spotted in Mumbai alongside the duo and shared the pictures on social media with the cryptic caption, “Iykyk.”
The latest post has once again raised curiosity around Basil Joseph’s reported project with the Pushpa star.
For the uninitiated, rumours about Allu Arjun teaming up with Basil Joseph have been doing the rounds for some time. While the film is yet to receive an official confirmation, reports suggest that the project could go on floors after Allu Arjun wraps up Raaka with Atlee and AA23 (LK07) with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
There had also been speculation that Basil Joseph’s film with Allu Arjun could be connected to the now-shelved Shaktimaan project. However, Minnal Murali co-writer Arun Anirudhan had earlier clarified that Shaktimaan was never pitched to Allu Arjun. He also indicated that the potential collaboration between Basil and the actor would be a completely separate project.
Allu Arjun’s upcoming projects
Allu Arjun’s immediate next release is Raaka, directed by Atlee. The film is expected to feature extensive CGI and VFX work, making it one of the actor’s most technologically ambitious projects yet.
The first-look poster showed Allu Arjun in a striking beast-like avatar. Although the makers have kept the plot details under wraps, reports claim that the actor could be seen in four different roles, with the narrative reportedly revolving around the idea of parallel universes.
Deepika Padukone has been officially confirmed as the female lead. There are also reports that Rashmika Mandanna could have an important role in the film, though her casting has not been officially announced. Music composer Sai Abhyankkar is handling both the songs and background score.
After Raaka, Allu Arjun is also set to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj on the tentatively titled AA23. The project is yet to begin filming, but reports suggest that Lokesh has recently conducted a look test for the film. A behind-the-scenes video from the process is also expected to be unveiled by the makers soon.
