Hanuman Ansh delivered a spectacular sixth weekend at the Indian box office, raking in around Rs. 49.50 crore nett. To put the scale of this performance into perspective, the previous record for the biggest sixth week across India was held by Kantara, which collected Rs. 37 crore nett. Hanuman Ansh has now comfortably surpassed that benchmark in just three days.
The film could potentially have added another Rs. 1–2 crore to its tally, had theatrical business in Maharashtra and nearby regions not been impacted by the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Hanuman Ansh records its biggest weekend so far
The sixth weekend has also emerged as the highest-grossing weekend of Hanuman Ansh’s theatrical run, surpassing the Rs. 46.50 crore nett collected during its fifth week. Day 38, which fell on Sunday, was the film’s biggest single day at the box office to date.
With the latest collections, Hanuman Ansh has now crossed the major Rs. 200 crore nett milestone, taking its India total to approximately Rs. 205 crore nett.
Interestingly, although the film recorded higher collections this weekend compared to the previous one, occupancy trends suggest that its business may now be moving towards some stabilisation. Last Sunday, Hanuman Ansh recorded around 70–75 percent occupancy, whereas yesterday saw occupancy of roughly 50 percent.
The stronger occupancy earlier would generally result in business spilling into the following days, helping maintain the upward trend. With occupancies now easing somewhat, the film could start witnessing more conventional day-to-day declines going forward.
The next two days are expected to remain strong on the back of the holiday, while Wednesday could offer the first meaningful indication of where the film is settling. Its performance then should also provide a better sense of its eventual lifetime run. At present, Hanuman Ansh appears well placed to finish its theatrical run at over Rs. 300 crore nett in India.
