Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is continuing its phenomenal run at the box office, with the Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju-led rom-com setting yet another major milestone. The film, which has already emerged as the highest-grossing movie in Malayalam cinema, has now crossed the Rs. 300 crore worldwide mark in just 24 days.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit becomes the fastest Malayalam film to cross Rs. 300 crore
BKU has become only the second Malayalam film after Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra to enter the coveted Rs. 300 crore club. However, it has achieved the feat significantly faster than its predecessor. While the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer needed 45 days to reach the milestone, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has managed to do so in just 24 days.
The film has also moved ahead of Lokah in terms of its worldwide gross. At the end of Day 24, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is estimated to have collected around Rs. 305 crore worldwide, surpassing Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra’s lifetime tally of Rs. 302.65 crore.
The Nivin Pauly-led film had already rewritten the Malayalam box-office record books earlier in its run. In just 17 days, BKU surpassed the record held by L2 Empuraan to become the highest-grossing Malayalam film at the worldwide level. It had also previously claimed the top spot in Kerala, overtaking Vaazha II: Biopic of a Billion Bros.
With the Rs. 300 crore milestone now achieved in record time, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has further strengthened its position as one of the biggest blockbusters in Malayalam cinema.
