Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, hosted by Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh, has reached its finale week. During one of the show’s most emotionally intense tasks, several contestants opened up about traumatic incidents of childhood abuse, leaving both the housemates and viewers deeply emotional. Their heartfelt confessions not only changed the atmosphere inside the house but also sparked conversations online about the lasting effects of childhood trauma.
Shreya Kalra, Ram Kapoor, Shivangi Joshi and Harshad Chopda recall childhood abuse
The challenge led to some of the season’s most emotional moments as Shreya Kalra, Ram Kapoor, Harshad Chopda, and Shivangi Joshi courageously shared that they had experienced molestation during their childhood. As they spoke about their painful memories, fellow contestants rallied around them with support and encouragement. Viewers also applauded their bravery, with many pointing out the common threads in their stories and discussing how such experiences can leave lifelong emotional scars.
Riteish Deshmukh praises contestants for speaking out
Responding to the emotional episode, Riteish Deshmukh told Hindustan Times that he admired the contestants for having the courage to reveal such deeply personal experiences on national television. He said, “All of them are achievers in their own way, and speaking about something this painful publicly is never easy. It’s very different from sharing it with a close friend or family member. By opening up, they have given strength to countless others to come forward and speak about their own experiences.”
He further stressed that survivors should never carry the burden of shame. “The shame belongs to the perpetrator, not the victim. We need to empower survivors to speak without fear. I believe these contestants have inspired many viewers to come forward, share their stories, and expose those responsible,” he added.
Riteish Deshmukh on picking his favourite contestants
As the finale approaches, Riteish shared that he has intentionally stayed away from choosing a favourite contestant despite following everyone’s journey closely. He said, “Farah Khan and I don’t have the privilege of picking favourites. We can only observe their journeys. Shreya has been an exceptional contestant and has played with great strength. Shivangi and Harshad have also had remarkable journeys. Ram, who was initially hesitant, gradually embraced the format of the show.”
He continued, “Varun has performed brilliantly. Yogesh and Akanksha Choudhary have both played very well, while Shilpa Shinde has been an incredibly strong contestant. Every participant has contributed something unique to the show. I prefer to remain unbiased and appreciate each contestant’s journey rather than single out one favourite.”
