Celebrity MasterChef Tamil is an upcoming culinary reality show that will air on television while also streaming on an OTT platform. Ahead of its launch, the makers have officially revealed Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the host of the Tamil edition of the popular cooking format.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu to Host Celebrity MasterChef Tamil
A newly released promo confirmed Samantha as the presenter of Celebrity MasterChef Tamil. Produced by Banijay Asia, the show draws inspiration from the internationally popular MasterChef format while bringing a distinctly Tamil identity through regional flavours, culture and celebrity personalities.
Speaking about taking on the new role, Samantha said she is thrilled to introduce the show to audiences, describing it as a completely different experience from her previous work. She highlighted food’s ability to connect people, create memories and reveal unexpected sides of personalities.
The actress also expressed excitement about seeing popular Tamil celebrities enter the kitchen, experiment with different dishes, make mistakes and compete with enthusiasm. She maintained that the identities of the contestants would remain a surprise for now.
Celebrity MasterChef Tamil to Premiere on Sony Vizha and SonyLIV
The culinary reality show will be broadcast on Sony Vizha and will simultaneously stream on SonyLIV. Although the promotional video has been released, the makers have yet to announce the official premiere date for both television and OTT.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Work Front
Samantha was most recently seen in the lead role in Maa Inti Bangaaram, where she portrayed Swarna, a newlywed living in a traditional household. Her character’s seemingly peaceful life changes when events from her past resurface, forcing her to protect her family from a threatening group.
The film also featured Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale in important roles, alongside Gautami Tadimalla, Sreemukhi, Manjusha and Srinivas Gavireddy.
With Celebrity MasterChef Tamil, Samantha is now set to explore a new space as a television host, bringing together her celebrity presence with a format centred around food, competition and Tamil culture.
