VenkyAnil5: Is Venkatesh Daggubati and Kalyan Ram’s Film a Remake of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil? Keerthy Suresh Responds

by masalabuzz

Venkatesh Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram are all set to reunite with director Anil Ravipudi for their upcoming film, tentatively titled VenkyAnil5 (also referred to as NKRAR2). Ever since the project was announced, reports have suggested that the film could be a remake of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Malayalam hit Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. Actress Keerthy Suresh has now addressed the speculation.

Is VenkyAnil5 a Remake of Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil?

The remake rumours gained momentum after an Instagram page, Simply Mollywood, claimed that VenkyAnil5 was based on the 2024 Malayalam comedy-drama Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil. However, Keerthy Suresh put the speculation to rest by responding in the comments section, clarifying that the upcoming Telugu entertainer is not a remake of the Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer.

For those unfamiliar, Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil revolves around Vinu, who is preparing for an arranged marriage with Anjali. His life takes an unexpected turn after he befriends his prospective brother-in-law, Anandan, only to discover that Anandan’s estranged wife is Vinu’s former girlfriend. The misunderstanding leads to a series of hilarious incidents ahead of the wedding.

Directed by Vipin Das, the Malayalam film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Basil Joseph, Anaswara Rajan, and Nikhila Vimal in pivotal roles and is currently available for streaming on JioHotstar.
