Sivakarthikeyan finishes first schedule of Seyon
The production team took to social media to announce the completion of the film’s initial shooting phase. Sharing the update with fans, they posted, “From passion to progress. Seyon First Schedule Wrapped.”
The movie officially commenced filming on May 18, 2026. As per reports, the makers are aiming to release the action entertainer during the Pongal 2027 festive season. Meanwhile, industry buzz suggests that Thalaivar173, starring Rajinikanth and co-produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, could move away from the Pongal slot and instead arrive in cinemas during the summer of 2027.
Earlier, the team unveiled a special glimpse from Seyon, presenting Sivakarthikeyan in a rugged rural avatar. Set against the backdrop of a village near Madurai, the visuals drew comparisons with Kamal Haasan’s cult classic Virumaandi due to their rustic tone and setting.
The film stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead, while Bhagyashri Borse has been signed as the female protagonist. The project marks her second Tamil-language film after her appearance in Dulquer Salmaan’s Kaantha.
Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming projects
Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara. The action drama featured Ravi Mohan in a negative role, with Sreeleela and Atharvaa Murali playing important characters. The film is currently available for streaming on ZEE5.
On the work front, the actor is also expected to collaborate with Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan for a new venture, which is rumored to include Dileep in a significant role.
Apart from that, Sivakarthikeyan was reportedly set to team up with director Venkat Prabhu for a science-fiction film. However, there have been no major updates regarding the project in recent months. Speculation suggests that Dhanush may now headline the film after completing his ongoing commitments, though an official confirmation is still awaited from the makers.
