About Peddi
Set in a rural village in Andhra Pradesh during the 1990s, Peddi follows the story of a talented cricketer who plays for any team willing to hire him. The village he belongs to struggles with a lack of recognition and identity, making life difficult for its residents.
At the center of the narrative is Peddi’s relationship with Achiyamma, the daughter of the village sarpanch, while another key figure, Appalasuri, spends years fighting to secure a railway halt for their overlooked village. After Appalasuri’s efforts fail to bear fruit, Peddi takes it upon himself to carry forward the mission.
The film chronicles his transformation from a cricketer-for-hire into a determined sportsman who uses his skills to champion a larger cause. Under the guidance of his mentor Gournaidu, Peddi embarks on a journey filled with challenges, sacrifices, and personal growth as he strives to bring recognition to his village and fulfill Appalasuri’s long-cherished dream.
