The emotional moment unfolded after fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi used her special power to expose one of Shilpa Shinde’s secrets. During the conversation, the former Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai actress opened up about a painful incident that took place nearly three years ago.

Fighting back tears, Shilpa said, “Log family family bolte hain, logon ke paas family nahi hoti aur mere paas family hoke bhi main anaath hoon” (People keep talking about family. Some don’t have one, but despite having a family, I feel like an orphan).

Recalling the incident, Shilpa claimed that she was asked to leave her Mumbai home at around 11 PM, just five days after undergoing shoulder surgery. She alleged that her brother was influenced by his wife, while her mother chose to support him instead of standing by her.

“They knew I value my self-respect. Situations were deliberately created so that I would leave the house,” she said. Shilpa further revealed that although she always gave her family unconditional support, she eventually felt like a “doormat” in her own home.

Speaking about her present life, the actress shared that she has almost stopped living in Mumbai and now stays in Karjat.

Whenever work brings her to Mumbai, she chooses to stay in hotels or shelter homes instead of returning to her family residence. She admitted that she often makes excuses when people ask why she doesn’t stay at home, usually saying that relatives or guests are visiting.

Shilpa also revealed that she has legally declared in her will that she shares no relationship with her family. Explaining her decision to participate in Lock Upp, she said, “I don’t want to build a home for myself. I want to build a shelter home.”
