Kichcha Sudeepa has remained away from the big screen since the release of his action film Mark on December 25, 2025. However, the actor is now gearing up for an exciting new phase in his career, with four major projects reportedly in development.Sudeepa may also be preparing for a long-awaited return to the director’s chair.

According to sources close to the development, the South superstar is keen on stepping back into filmmaking as a director after several years. Following Mark, Sudeepa maintained a relatively low profile regarding his future ventures, but that quiet phase now seems to be paving the way for one of the most ambitious chapters of his career.

His next release will be Billa Ranga Baashaa (BRB), a highly anticipated collaboration with director Anup Bhandari. Set in the futuristic world of 2209, the film is being mounted on a grand scale. While an initial shooting schedule had already been completed, production was temporarily paused during the making of Mark. Reports suggest filming is expected to resume in June 2026.

Apart from BRB, Sudeepa is reportedly working on four additional projects across different genres and storytelling styles. One of these ventures is expected to mark his comeback as a director. The actor last directed Maanikya in 2014, and fans have long been eager to see him return behind the camera.

Maanikya, an action drama inspired by Prabhas’ Mirchi, revolved around an architect returning to his ancestral village to resolve deep-rooted family conflicts and uncover hidden truths about his parents. The film went on to become both a commercial and critical success.

Recently, filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj further fueled speculation by sharing a cryptic social media post that read, “A lot to talk, a lot to plan.” The update sparked discussions among fans about a possible collaboration between the two creative forces.

With Sudeepa reportedly preparing for a return to direction, official announcements regarding these projects are likely to arrive in the coming months.
