South Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu is basking in the success of her latest Telugu action-comedy-drama, Maa Inti Bangaaram, which has emerged as a major box office hit. Amid the film’s successful run, director Nandini Reddy shared an inspiring behind-the-scenes story, revealing that Samantha filmed the movie’s energetic promotional song while dealing with morning sickness during the early stages of her pregnancy.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu Shot Maa Inti Bangaaram Despite Morning Sickness
In a conversation with iDream Media, Nandini Reddy praised Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s dedication and professionalism, recalling that the actress was in her first trimester when the team filmed the movie’s high-energy dance numbers.
The director revealed that although Samantha was experiencing severe morning sickness, she remained committed to completing the shoot without compromising her performance. Nandini said she only learned about the actress’s pregnancy while filming the song Thassadiya.
“I was extremely happy. It was almost the final phase of the shoot. Initially, the team informed me that Samantha wasn’t feeling well in the morning, and we assumed she had a fever,” Nandini recalled. “The following day, I asked if she had recovered. She stayed quiet for a moment before telling me that she was pregnant and dealing with morning sickness.”
The filmmaker further shared that once the team became aware of Samantha’s condition, they ensured she received extra care for the remaining schedule. Fortunately, most of the physically demanding action sequences had already been completed by then.
Samantha Confirms Pregnancy
Nandini’s revelation comes shortly after Samantha Ruth Prabhu officially confirmed her pregnancy during the success celebrations of Maa Inti Bangaaram in Hyderabad. The announcement followed days of speculation on social media after fans noticed what they believed to be a baby bump in her recent appearances.
Sharing the happy news while seated alongside her husband, filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, Samantha said she would be taking a brief break from acting following the film’s release.
“After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I’ll have to take a short break because of my condition. I’ll be going on maternity leave, but I’m truly happy. Once that’s over, I’ll be back with another film for all my fans,” she said.
The couple is expecting their first child together in December 2026.
