Bigg Boss 20 has begun with its usual dose of drama, candid conversations and heated moments. Hosted by Salman Khan, the new season introduced 16 contestants as they settled into the house and began getting acquainted with each other. Among the conversations that caught attention was an exchange between Mahhi Vij, Isha Rikhi and Mary Kom, where their personal lives became a topic of discussion.
Mahhi Vij talks about their ‘second innings’
Mahhi, who separated from actor Jay Bhanushali last year, was seen discussing relationships and life after separation with Isha. While she continues to co-parent her daughter with Jay, Mahhi has largely kept her personal life away from the spotlight.
During their conversation, Mahhi referred to their stint on Bigg Boss 20 as a new beginning and made a remark about the three women being divorcees. She told Isha, “Tell me who has an affair with whom outside. Teen to divorcee aarakhi hai set pe, tu main aur voh boxer (Mary Kom). Second innings to humari chal rahi hai, divorcee special (There are three divorcees on the show — you, me and that boxer (Mary Kom). Our second innings is already underway; it’s a divorcee special).”
Isha Rikhi says she wants to be known by her own identity
Mahhi later asked Isha about her decision to participate in the reality show. Isha explained that she has intentionally maintained a private life and now wants audiences to know her for who she is rather than through her relationships.
She said, “A lot of people don’t know me because I have always been a little private.”
When Mahhi pointed out that Isha had been widely discussed online over the past two months, the actress clarified her perspective. “I don’t want people to know me as someone’s girlfriend or wife. I want to be known for my name and identity,” Isha said.
Mary Kom chooses not to discuss her personal life
Mahhi also tried to bring up Mary Kom’s separation, but the boxing champion made it clear that she was not comfortable discussing the subject. Mahhi suggested that talking about an ex-partner does not necessarily have to be negative and that there can also be positive memories associated with a past relationship.
However, Isha appeared uncomfortable with the repeated discussion and questioned why Mahhi was keen to revisit a sensitive subject that both she and Mary had seemingly chosen to keep private. The exchange added another tense moment to the early episodes of the reality show.
