Jailer 2, headlined by Rajinikanth, is scheduled to hit theatres on October 15, 2026. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the action-packed sequel has now released its first single, Ala Bolelo.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 first single Ala Bolelo is out
The makers of Jailer 2 have unveiled Ala Bolelo, the film’s first song, with Anirudh Ravichander composing and singing the track. The song brings together Tamil and Malayalam musical influences and features special appearances by Shamna Kkasim (Purnaa) and Rajesh Madhavan.
Similar to Kaavaalaa from the first Jailer, the lyrics for the track have been penned by Arunraja Kamaraj. Since several portions of Jailer 2 were filmed in Kerala, the song incorporates musical elements that complement the film’s setting and atmosphere.
The makers had earlier released a 55-second promo ahead of the film’s Dussehra release. The teaser opens with Vinayakan’s final dialogue from Jailer, suggesting that his actions were connected to a much larger network. Picking up from the events of the first film, the sequel appears to put Muthuvel Pandian in the middle of an even bigger challenge, supported by an extensive ensemble cast.
The glimpse also offers brief appearances by Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vidya Balan. SJ Suryah is reportedly part of the film in a key role.
Meanwhile, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa and Yogi Babu are returning to reprise their respective characters from the first instalment. Hrithik Roshan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Vijay Sethupathi are also expected to make cameo appearances.
Rajinikanth’s upcoming projects
After Jailer 2, Rajinikanth will headline Dharman, which is being co-produced by Kamal Haasan under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner. The project, initially associated with filmmakers Sundar C and Cibi Chakaravarthi, is now being helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu.
The film also stars Simran, Raashi Khanna, Yogi Babu and others in important roles. The team recently marked Rajinikanth’s 51st year in Indian cinema on the sets. While the movie is expected to release in 2027, an official release date has not yet been announced. Ram Pothineni is also rumoured to play the principal antagonist.
Beyond Dharman, Rajinikanth is set to reunite with Kamal Haasan for the tentatively titled KHxRK Reunion, which will be directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
