The long-running war of words between veteran comedian Sunil Pal and internet personality Samay Raina has taken another dramatic turn. In a recent interaction with the media, Sunil Pal claimed that he was offered Rs. 25 lakh to appear on India’s Got Latent Season 2, but chose to decline the invitation.

Sunil Pal Claims He Was Offered Rs. 25 Lakh for India’s Got Latent 2

A vocal critic of modern roast comedy, Sunil Pal has repeatedly condemned India’s Got Latent for its use of explicit language. Speaking to the paparazzi in Mumbai, the former The Great Indian Laughter Challenge winner recalled an alleged conversation with Samay Raina regarding a possible appearance on the show’s second season.

According to Pal, the financial offer was substantial, but he made it clear that he would not participate if he was expected to use abusive language. Recalling the exchange, he said, “He offered me Rs. 25 lakh, but I told him I wouldn’t use abusive language. He replied, ‘Sir, you don’t have to use swear words, but everyone else on the show will.'”

During the interaction, photographers pointed out that Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, who appeared in the Season 2 premiere to promote Alpha, also avoided using explicit language on the show.

Unconvinced, Sunil Pal responded with another sarcastic remark, taking a poetic swipe at Alia Bhatt while maintaining his criticism of the show’s format.

The tension between Sunil Pal and Samay Raina dates back to the first season of India’s Got Latent in 2025. At the time, Pal had strongly criticized the new-age stand-up comedy scene, alleging that some comedians were promoting vulgarity through their content.

Samay Raina later responded during his Still Alive stand-up special, describing Pal as “insecure and frustrated.” Their rivalry resurfaced once again during the launch of India’s Got Latent Season 2 on Netflix and YouTube, where Samay revived one of his viral jokes aimed at the veteran comedian.

As of now, neither Samay Raina nor the makers of India’s Got Latent Season 2 have publicly responded to Sunil Pal’s latest claims.
