After grabbing attention with the official title reveal of his upcoming film Om, actor Dhanush has now shared his thoughts on his father Kasthuri Raja’s latest drama, Habeebi, through an emotional social media post.

Taking to social media, Dhanush revealed that his packed shooting commitments delayed his viewing of the film. He expressed immense pride in his father for embracing a role that was vastly different from his usual work and for portraying the character of Yusuf with sincerity and conviction.

About Habeebi
Set against the backdrop of a weaving community near Tirunelveli, Habeebi is a romantic drama that unfolds over four decades. The story centers on Yousuf, a dedicated handloom weaver fighting to preserve his family’s traditional craft, while also exploring the quiet and enduring romance between Abu Thahir and Nilofar amid changing social realities.
The film features Kasthuri Raja and Esha M in lead roles, supported by Malavika Manoj, Dhanasree Sudhakaran, Arulkumar, Anusreya Rajan, and others. Directed by Meera Kathiravan, the movie’s music and background score have been composed by Sam CS.
Dhanush’s upcoming projects
Dhanush was most recently seen in Kara, an action thriller directed by Vignesh Raja. The film follows Karasamy, a former thief who is pushed back into crime as he attempts to recover his ancestral property and fulfill his late father’s final wish.
