Dare Devil: Is Ajith Kumar set to start shooting in September 2026?
According to a report from Valai Pechu, Ajith Kumar is likely to begin filming Dare Devil towards the end of September. Mohanlal was previously speculated to be part of the project in a supporting role. However, recent reports claim that the Malayalam superstar may have stepped away from the film due to discussions surrounding his remuneration.
It is important to note that this development is based on a media report, and the makers have not officially confirmed Mohanlal’s exit or the September shooting schedule.
Earlier known by its working title AK64, Dare Devil was initially expected to begin production in February 2026. However, the shoot reportedly got delayed as the project did not have a producer attached at the time. The film will now mark Shalini Ajithkumar’s debut as a producer under her banner, Bravehearts Production.
Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in as the composer, marking his reunion with Ajith Kumar after their collaborations on Vedalam, Vivegam, and Vidaamuyarchi.
Adhik Ravichandran had earlier confirmed that his next directorial would feature Ajith Kumar once again. The film is reportedly being planned as a family entertainer with a broader appeal, unlike Good Bad Ugly, and is also expected to contain several surprises for the audience.

Ajith Kumar was last seen in Adhik Ravichandran’s action entertainer Good Bad Ugly. The film revolves around AK, a former underworld figure known as Red Dragon.
After becoming a father, AK chooses to leave his violent past behind. However, when his son is falsely implicated in a situation, he is forced to confront his old life and uncover the truth to protect him.
The film also featured Trisha Krishnan, Arjun Das, Sunil, Prabhu, Prasanna, Karthikeya Dev, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Shine Tom Chacko, and several other actors in important roles.
