Asur, created by Gaurav Shukla, has established itself as one of the most popular psychological thriller series in the Indian OTT space. Now,the highly anticipated third season is scheduled to begin filming in September, as the makers prepare to take the gripping story into its next chapter.
Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti will once again headline the series, continuing their association with the franchise that began with Season 1. Their characters, Dhananjay Rajpoot and Nikhil Nair, have remained central to the show’s narrative, and fans are eager to see where their stories head in the upcoming season.
Adding a new face to the franchise, actress Shweta Basu Prasad has also joined the cast of Asur 3. Details regarding her character are currently being kept confidential, although her entry is expected to introduce another intriguing dimension to the psychological thriller.
A source told , “The scripting is locked and the team is preparing to begin shooting in September. Shweta Basu Prasad is joining the cast, and Gaurav Shukla will take over the director’s chair this season.” The remaining cast members are still being finalised, with more announcements expected in the coming days.
Gaurav Shukla to make directorial debut with Asur 3
The third season will also mark a major change behind the camera. Gaurav Shukla, who created and wrote Asur, will make his directorial debut with the upcoming season. The first two installments were directed by Oni Sen, while Shukla served as the show’s writer and creator.
Apart from directing, Shukla will also take on producing responsibilities for the new season, making his involvement with the franchise even more extensive.
With Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti returning to reprise their popular roles and Shweta Basu Prasad joining the ensemble, Asur 3 is expected to deliver another dark and intense chapter. The series will stream on JioHotstar.
