Thalapathy Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay is all set to make his directorial debut with Sigma, and the makers have now officially confirmed the film’s theatrical release date. Headlined by Sundeep Kishan, the action-adventure entertainer will hit cinemas worldwide on July 31, 2026.
Sigma release date officially announced
Sharing the announcement on social media, the makers wrote, “A high-stakes heist begins. SIGMA storms into theatres on July 31st. Gear up for the ultimate quest.”
Directed and written by Jason Sanjay, Sigma is described as an action-adventure comedy centered around a “lone wolf” protagonist who defies societal expectations and embarks on a thrilling treasure hunt. The story reportedly blends themes of hidden treasures, daring heists, and high-stakes action.
The film is produced by Lyca Productions, while the music and background score are composed by Thaman S. Alongside Sundeep Kishan, the cast includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Yog Japee, Sampath Raj, and several others in important roles. Reports also suggest that a few actors may appear in cameo roles, while Jason Sanjay himself is expected to feature in a dance sequence.
Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming swansong
Meanwhile, Thalapathy Vijay is preparing for the release of his much-awaited final film, Jana Nayagan. The movie reportedly follows the story of Thalapathy Vetri Kondan, a former officer who adopts a young girl named Viji and raises her to become strong and independent despite her fear of violence.
As a major threat looms over the country, Vetri Kondan finds himself drawn into a dangerous conflict while confronting a deeply personal vendetta.
Apart from Vijay, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, and Sunil in pivotal roles, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
