Teja Sajja and filmmaker Prasanth Varma previously teamed up for the 2021 comedy-horror film Zombie Reddy. Now, the makers are reportedly preparing to announce its sequel on the occasion of Teja Sajja’s 31st birthday.
In an exclusive update,Zombie Reddy 2, starring Teja Sajja, will be officially announced on August 23, 2026, marking the actor’s birthday.
A source close to the development revealed, “The sequel to Zombie Reddy is set to be announced tomorrow, August 23, on Teja Sajja’s birthday. The horror-comedy proved to be a hit, and the makers felt this was the right time to bring the zombie universe back with a larger second chapter and establish it as a franchise. The sequel is being mounted on a much bigger scale, with a new director taking charge this time. Further details will be unveiled with the official announcement.”
The first Zombie Reddy revolves around Mario, a game designer from Hyderabad, who travels to Rayalaseema with his friends to attend the wedding of his programmer friend Kalyan. Their celebrations take a horrifying turn when Bhadram is bitten by a mysterious stranger and starts turning into a zombie, leading to a deadly outbreak in the village.
As the infection rapidly spreads, Mario and his friends find themselves caught between feuding families and an expanding army of zombies. They eventually learn that the virus was accidentally developed by a disgraced virologist while working on a vaccine, and that a cure is available. With assistance from the rival chieftains, Mario sets out to locate the cure before the outbreak claims everyone.
At a temple, Mario discovers that water flowing from a Shiva Lingam can reverse the infection. He manages to bring the zombies into the water, bringing the outbreak to an end and rescuing his friends and the villagers. The film concludes with Mario being hailed as a hero, while the two rival families reconcile after their loved ones are cured.
Alongside Teja Sajja, the film features Anandhi, Daksha Nagarkar, Kireeti Damaraju, RJ Hemanth, Getup Srinu, Lahari Shari and others in important roles. Directed by Prasanth Varma, Zombie Reddy is currently available to stream on Prime Video.

Teja Sajja was last seen in a leading role in Mirai, a fantasy action-adventure featuring Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, Shriya Saran and Ritika Nayak in key roles. The film also announced a sequel titled Mirai: Jaithraya during its end credits.
