Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, featuring Yash in the lead, arrived in cinemas on August 26, 2026. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the psychological action thriller is now gearing up for the release of its English version across India on September 4, 2026.
Toxic English version to release with a shorter runtime
According to an update shared by the makers on social media, the English version of Yash starrer Toxic will hit Indian theatres on September 4 with a shorter runtime. The film was originally written and shot in both Kannada and English before being dubbed into several other Indian languages.
As reported by India Today, the English cut of Toxic will have a runtime of 2 hours and 57 minutes. In comparison, the original Kannada version runs for 3 hours, 14 minutes and 12 seconds, making the English edition approximately 17 minutes shorter.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is a psychological action thriller centred on Raya, a ruthless figure who rises to prominence in Goa during Portuguese rule. After avenging his father’s death alongside his sister Ganga, Raya establishes a powerful empire and becomes caught in a complicated web of relationships involving Rebecca, Nadia and the family of Salvador Almeida.
A string of betrayals and tragedies eventually forces Raya to leave Goa, leaving Nadia and his son Ticket behind.
Years later, Raya returns as a powerful lord, but the events of his past continue to trouble him. Following several personal tragedies, he becomes increasingly consumed by guilt and isolation. He later marries Melissa and has another son, Adam, but his life takes another turn when Ticket confronts him, seemingly seeking revenge for the pain caused by his father.
As Ticket begins dismantling Raya’s empire and forces him to confront his past actions, a major revelation surrounding his son comes to light, leaving Raya’s ultimate fate uncertain.
The film stars Yash in the lead, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. Akshay Oberoi, Darrell D’Silva, Sudev Nair and several others also feature in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Yash’s next major project is Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana, in which he shares the screen with Ranbir Kapoor. The epic is scheduled to release during Diwali in 2026 and 2027.
