Rajinikanth shares a humbling experience
During a heartfelt interaction with a spiritual leader, Rajinikanth reflected on an incident that completely changed his perspective on fame and ego.
At a recent event, the veteran actor revealed that during the peak of his stardom, he believed people would instantly recognize him wherever he went. Because of this, he initially hesitated to accompany the spiritual guru on a tour of the ashram, fearing his presence might create chaos among the crowd.
The Ra.One actor recalled, “I assumed people would gather around me, call out my name, ask for photos and autographs. I even noticed many visitors from Tamil Nadu there.”
However, despite thousands of people being present at the venue, not a single person recognized or approached him. Sharing the moment, Rajinikanth said, “Nobody came up to me, no one even looked at me. I was waving at people, but they didn’t notice me at all. I’ve met powerful politicians and businessmen before, but this incident truly hurt my ego.”
When the spiritual guru reassured him that there would be no disturbance during the visit, the actor humorously pointed at his head and replied, “Idhar disturb ho gaya,” implying that his ego had taken a hit.

On the professional front, the 75-year-old actor has an exciting slate ahead. Following the release of Coolie, he recently wrapped up filming for Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film also stars S. J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vidya Balan and others in key roles.
He is also set to appear in Thalaivar 173 and the tentatively titled KHxRK alongside Kamal Haasan.
