Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, is all set to hit theatres on May 21, 2026, coinciding with the superstar’s birthday. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the highly anticipated film serves as the third installment in the blockbuster crime thriller franchise.
Jeethu Joseph reveals what makes Drishyam 3 different
Speaking at the trailer launch event, director Jeethu Joseph shared an intriguing insight into the storyline and how the third chapter differs from the earlier films.
He said, “The difference between the first and second parts and the third one is that Georgekutty doesn’t know whether someone is behind him, and if so, who it is. In the first two parts, he knew that the police and the dead boy’s family were after him. But in this one, he doesn’t know who it is.”
The filmmaker further hinted that audiences can still expect shocking twists and suspenseful moments throughout the movie.
Trailer hints at Georgekutty’s emotional breakdown
The recently released trailer of Drishyam 3 shows Georgekutty struggling emotionally after the events of the previous films. Haunted by fear and uncertainty, he begins questioning everyone around him while worrying whether his past actions may finally catch up with him.
Apart from Mohanlal, the film also features Meena, Siddique, Asha Sharath, Murali Gopy, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil reprising their roles.
