Ram Gopal Varma recently gave fans a glimpse of his meeting with Saiyaara filmmaker Mohit Suri by sharing a selfie with the director. Now, The meeting could mark the beginning of an exciting collaboration. Sources reveal that Mohit Suri and Ram Gopal Varma are coming together for a two-hero gangster drama, which will be produced by YRF.

Mohit Suri to direct the two-hero gangster film

The upcoming project is expected to be Mohit Suri’s next directorial after his film featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. While the makers are currently keeping the details of the film closely guarded, sources reveal that Mohit was introduced to the script and instantly connected with the story.

“Mohit really loved the script and felt that it was something he wanted to take forward as a director. The story has the kind of gangster world and characters that allow him to explore a different space.

Interestingly, the screenplay has been penned by Ram Gopal Varma, who has frequently explored crime and gangster stories throughout his career. The project will therefore bring together RGV’s writing and Mohit Suri’s filmmaking sensibilities, with YRF coming on board as the producer.

The film is planned as a two-lead story, with both male protagonists playing crucial roles.Mohit is keen to cast two established stars for the project, and conversations regarding the casting are expected to begin soon.

“Mohit wants two big names to headline the film. Both characters are equally important to the story, so the idea is to cast two top stars who can bring the required intensity to the roles. Discussions around the casting will happen in the coming months,” the source added.

At present, the two-hero gangster film is tentatively expected to begin production towards the end of 2027, provided the project progresses according to plan. Further details, including the casting, are likely to emerge once the film enters its pre-production phase.
