The Traitors Season 2 opened with plenty of betrayal, suspense, and drama, as the first three episodes witnessed several unexpected twists. Hosted by Karan Johar, the reality show quickly placed comedian Munawar Faruqui under the spotlight during the opening ‘Circle of Shaq’. While Munawar openly suspected Mallika Sherawat of being a Traitor, other contestants started questioning his strategy and eventually joined forces to vote him out.
Munawar Faruqui becomes the first contestant to be eliminated
During the Circle of Shaq, Munawar received the highest number of votes, bringing his journey on the show to an end. Before exiting, the comedian addressed his fellow contestants and expressed that he had anticipated being targeted.
He said, “I had expected this to happen to me. I knew I would have to face it. This often happens to me. It is not the first time. This is not the first time that I have been targeted. Call me a soft target or someone too good to be there. I can clearly see through the insecurities of other people, and you will see how end up looking. Because your insecurities will be visible. You approached me as a friend and heard me out, but now you wrote my name here. Thank you for that.”
When host Karan Johar asked Munawar to disclose whether he was a Traitor or an Innocent, the comedian responded emotionally. He said, “Fk off, guys! I was playing the game! I wanted to play it well! I am an innocent! Fk off, insecure bunch of people. They thought I would eat them up here. They are all scared. Now recognize who is the one amongst you.”
Munawar’s revelation confirmed that the contestants had eliminated an Innocent, giving the Traitors an early advantage in the game.
Who are the Traitors in The Traitors 2?
The Traitors identified so far are Kullu, Krystle D’Souza, and Harman Singha. During the second episode, Shahneel Gill was recruited into the secret group, taking the total number of Traitors to four.
Dalip Tahil and Karan Singh Magic also leave the show
Munawar was not the only contestant to exit the reality show in its opening episodes. Dalip Tahil was eliminated on the very first day following a twist involving gold coins, after he ended up with the lowest number.
Meanwhile, Karan Singh Magic became the first contestant to be murdered by the Traitors. His elimination further established the high-stakes nature of the game and signalled the intense mind games expected to unfold throughout the season.
