Welcome To The Jungle added an estimated Rs. 50 lakh on its third Monday, recording a 40 per cent decline from its third Friday collections. With this, the Akshay Kumar-led comedy has taken its total domestic box office collection to Rs. 126.10 crore nett. Compared to the previous Monday, the film witnessed a sharp 80 per cent drop, largely due to the arrival of Dhamaal 4, which significantly impacted its business over the third weekend.
The Ahmed Khan directorial is expected to collect Rs. 7-9 crore during its third week, taking its cumulative total to around Rs. 130 crore nett. Based on its current trajectory, the film is nearing the end of its theatrical run and is likely to wrap up with a lifetime collection in the vicinity of Rs. 135 crore nett. That would leave it behind the lifetime collections of Bhooth Bangla and Housefull 5.
Although Welcome To The Jungle is unlikely to achieve a Clean Hit verdict, it remains on course to emerge as a successful venture. One of the key factors working in its favour is its controlled production cost despite belonging to the established Welcome franchise. Had the film been mounted on a budget similar to Housefull 5, its box office outcome would have looked far less encouraging. That said, considering the franchise’s popularity, its overall collections are somewhat underwhelming.
For context, the original Welcome was one of the biggest blockbusters of its time, while its sequel also delivered a strong theatrical performance despite not featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Against that backdrop, the latest installment has performed below expectations.
