Naga Chaitanya is gearing up for one of the most ambitious films of his career with Vrushakarma. Directed by Karthik Varma Dandu of Virupaksha fame, the mythical thriller is expected to be a major cinematic spectacle.

Vrushakarma reportedly targeting December 2026 release

According to reports from 123Telugu, Vrushakarma is likely aiming for a theatrical release in December 2026. The delay is reportedly due to the extensive post-production and VFX work required for the film. However, the makers are yet to officially confirm the release date.

The film features Naga Chaitanya in the role of a rugged adventurer, with the teaser hinting at a gripping mix of mythology, horror, mystery, and thriller elements. Speaking during the glimpse launch, Chaitanya expressed immense confidence in the project and described it as potentially the best film of his career.

The actor revealed that he had long wanted to be part of a large-scale spectacle driven by mythology and heavy visual effects, adding that Vrushakarma fulfilled that aspiration.

Apart from Chaitanya, the movie stars Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, while Sparsh Shrivastava takes on the antagonist’s role. Jayaram and Zarina Wahab also play important characters in the film.

The project is jointly backed by Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. The story has been penned by Sukumar, with cinematography handled by Neil D Cunha. Music for the film is being composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath, while Naveen Nooli serves as the editor.

On the work front, Naga Chaitanya was last seen in Thandel, a romantic action thriller co-starring Sai Pallavi. The film, inspired by a real-life incident involving a fisherman from Srikakulam, is currently streaming on Netflix. Reports also suggest that the actor may reunite with filmmaker Vikram Kumar for Dhootha Season 2, though an official announcement is still awaited.
