DC, headlined by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, brought its theatrical journey to a strong conclusion. Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the Tamil film earned more than Rs. 106 crore gross worldwide during its complete run. The domestic markets contributed around Rs. 79.50 crore, while the film added over USD 2.8 million, equivalent to Rs. 26.50 crore, from overseas territories.
The film recorded its strongest performance in Tamil Nadu, where it crossed the Rs. 25 crore mark. In the Telugu-speaking markets, DC earned approximately Rs. 22.50 crore. However, Kerala emerged as one of its biggest highlights, contributing a remarkable Rs. 19.75 crore. Given the relatively smaller market size, the figure is particularly impressive for a Tamil-language release. DC consequently ranks among the highest-grossing Tamil films in Kerala.
The movie ultimately emerged as a successful theatrical venture, driven by positive word-of-mouth and Anirudh’s viral music. The film’s success also holds special significance for Lokesh Kanagaraj, as it marked his debut as a full-fledged leading actor.
Following its successful theatrical run, DC is now gearing up for its OTT premiere this weekend. Its performance on the streaming platform will be worth watching.
