Maa Inti Bangaaram, starring Samantha in the leading role, is performing well at the box office. The Telugu film registered a 40 per cent spike on Day 2, adding Rs. 7.75 crore to the tally. This took its two-day cume to Rs. 13.25 crore gross at the Indian box office.
The action comedy movie is performing best in its home turf, where it grossed over Rs. 10.30 crore in two days, with Nizam contributing the most, Rs. 6.15 crore. It also found some audience in Karnataka, fetching nearly Rs. 2 crore, while Tamil Nadu contributed around Rs. 50 lakh to the tally. Maa Inti Bangaaram further collected around Rs. 30 lakh from the rest of the Indian markets.
With this sort of impressive run, the movie emerged as a Clean Hit venture. The action comedy drama was always in a safe zone as the makers turned it profitable from the first ticket itself, thanks to the smart planning and controlled budget. Based on current trends, the Samantha starrer is looking to close its first weekend around the Rs. 20 crore mark, which will be a solid debut for a female-led action drama.
Directed by B V Nandini Reddy, the movie should keep gaining traction even after the weekend and record a superb run. How far it can go at the box office will depend on how it holds on weekdays. The word-of-mouth is in favour, which is a win-win situation for the makers.
