Thalapathy Vijay’s highly anticipated film Jana Nayagan continues to face delays as the movie remains stuck in the certification process. The film was reportedly referred to the revising committee just before its planned Pongal 2026 release, resulting in an indefinite postponement. Even after nearly five months, the makers are still awaiting censor clearance.
Producer Venkat K Narayana reacts to delay
Amid the long wait, the film has stayed in the spotlight for several reasons, including reports of portions of the movie being leaked online. Recently, KVN Productions producer Venkat K Narayana addressed the media during a temple visit and briefly spoke about the project’s current status.
While avoiding detailed comments, the producer confirmed that the certification process is still underway. He said, “This is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told, we’re waiting for certificate to come. I am sure that they’re going to give it anytime soon. We’ll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God’s blessings.”
He further assured fans that the makers would officially reveal the new release date once the censor certificate is received. “Release date will be announced as soon as we get the censor certificate. We’ll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we’ll release it in a grand way throughout the world,” Venkat added.
