Athiradi, featuring Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas in lead roles, arrived in cinemas on May 14, 2026. Helmed by first-time director Arun Anirudhan, the action-comedy entertainer is now set to make its digital premiere. Here’s everything you need to know about its OTT release.

When and where to watch Athiradi

After its theatrical run, Athiradi is gearing up for its streaming debut on SonyLIV. The film will begin streaming on the platform from June 19, 2026.

The announcement was made through SonyLIV’s official social media channels, where the platform teased the film’s entertaining rivalry and high-energy narrative. The post described the movie as one of the season’s biggest entertainment offerings.

Plot and trailer of Athiradi

The story revolves around Samkutty, popularly known as Sam Boy, an enthusiastic civil engineering student who is deeply in love with Swathy R. Krishna. Determined to revive his college’s iconic cultural festival, “Arohan,” Sam embarks on a mission to bring the event back after it was banned following a tragic stampede years earlier.

His efforts soon bring him into conflict with Sreekuttan, a former gangster who has reinvented himself as a musician. Ironically, Sreekuttan was the very person responsible for the festival’s ban in the first place. As tensions rise and egos clash, he reverts to his feared alter ego, “Thotta” Kuttan, and sets out to stop the festival from happening again.

What follows is a chaotic and entertaining battle between the two men, with the future of the event hanging in the balance.
