Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently busy shooting for his upcoming action entertainer NBK111, which is being directed by Gopichandh Malineni. The veteran actor reportedly suffered a muscle tear while performing an action sequence in Kakinada and is expected to undergo a minor surgical procedure.
Nandamuri Balakrishna suffers muscle injury during NBK111 shoot
Director Gopichandh Malineni recently took to social media to share an update about Balakrishna’s health. He confirmed that the actor sustained a minor injury on the sets of NBK111 and will return to filming after completing his surgery and recovery.
In his post, the filmmaker wrote, “NBK111. During the shooting in Kakinada, Nandamuri Balakrishna garu sustained a minor muscle tear in an action sequence. As per the doctors’ advice, he needs to undergo a small surgery to recover fully as soon as possible. His discipline and hardworking spirit towards the film inspires every single member of the NBK111 film team. Fans need not worry. We wholeheartedly wish for him to recover quickly and rejoin the shoot.”
Following the news of Balakrishna’s injury, his nephews Jr NTR and Nandamuri Kalyan Ram also sent their best wishes for his speedy recovery. Jr NTR wrote, “Get well soon Bala Babai (Uncle). Wishing you a speedy recovery and good health. Looking forward to seeing you roar back in full form.”
Kalyan Ram, meanwhile, said, “Get well soon Babai. Wishing you a speedy recovery. I’m sure you will be back in action in no time, doing what you love the most.”

The makers recently released a glimpse of NBK111, offering a look at a stylish and high-energy action entertainer led by Nandamuri Balakrishna. Kajal Aggarwal has been confirmed as the female lead, while Manchu Manoj will be seen in a significant role. The cast also includes Samuthirakani, Sarath Kumar, Abhimanyu Singh, Upendra Limaye, Manish Wadhwa, Swasika, and several others.
Helmed by Gopichandh Malineni, the film features music by Thaman S., who is composing both the songs and the background score. Arvind Kashyap is handling the cinematography. NBK111 marks Balakrishna’s second collaboration with the director after Veera Simha Reddy.
The project was initially reported to be a historical drama, with Nayanthara rumoured to be playing the female lead. However, the recently released glimpse suggests that the film has taken a different creative direction, with the actress reportedly no longer associated with the project.
Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna has also announced a collaboration with director Koratala Siva for a project tentatively titled NBK112. The film is reportedly called Carpenter, with Anirudh Ravichander said to be composing the music. However, an official confirmation regarding these details is still awaited.
