At the film’s success celebration, attended by the cast and crew with Chiranjeevi as the chief guest, Ram Charan shared a heartfelt message for fans.

Recalling a famous line from the movie Tagore, the actor said, “There’s a dialogue in Tagore that says Telugu audiences may not accept someone immediately, but once they do, their affection lasts forever. In the same way, regardless of who said what or what kind of reviews were written, this film no longer belongs to us—it belongs to the audience.”

Controversy around Achiyamma’s character

For those unaware, Peddi sparked widespread debate online, with several viewers expressing concerns about the depiction of Achiyamma and some of the film’s creative decisions.

Addressing the criticism earlier, director Buchi Babu Sana admitted that he had not expected the scenes to trigger such a strong reaction. He explained that the intention was to portray a light-hearted romantic dynamic between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor.

“I never imagined those scenes would be viewed so negatively. Our aim was to present a playful love story between the characters. We will certainly be more mindful in the future and work towards better representation,” the filmmaker stated.

About Peddi

The story revolves around Peddi, a talented cricketer who plays for any team willing to pay him. While pursuing his love for Achiyamma, the daughter of the village sarpanch, he is inspired by Appalasuri, a local resident who has spent years fighting to secure a railway halt and official recognition for their village.

Driven by Appalasuri’s dream, Peddi embarks on a transformative journey, using his cricketing skills to support the cause. Along the way, he evolves from a man motivated by money into a committed sportsman under the mentorship of Gournaidu, learning the value of sacrifice and purpose.

Apart from Ram Charan, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, Ravi Kishan, and Viji Chandrasekhar in significant roles.

On the professional front, Ram Charan is gearing up for his next venture, tentatively titled RC17, which marks his reunion with Sukumar, the director of Pushpa.
