Although Salman Khan’s latest release Sikandar failed to make an impact at the box office, the film continues to generate discussion, particularly around the superstar’s work habits. The debate began after director A. R. Murugadoss reportedly attributed the film’s poor performance to Salman’s alleged habit of arriving late on set. Now, actor Vindhu Dara Singh has stepped forward to support Salman and dismiss those claims.
Vindhu Dara Singh defends Salman Khan
During a conversation with Kadak, Vindhu shared his experience of working with Salman across several projects and insisted that the actor has always been punctual.
“I’ve worked with Salman in five or six films. If he’s asked to report at 10 a.m., he’ll be there at 10. If the shoot requires him at 7 a.m., he arrives at 7. Otherwise, he follows the schedule set by the director. The idea that Salman regularly turns up late is simply not true,” Vindhu stated.
The actor further explained that Salman generally works a single shift, making the accusations of tardiness difficult to believe.
What Salman told Vindhu after Sikandar‘s failure
Recalling a conversation he had with Salman following Sikandar’s disappointing run, Vindhu revealed that he had asked the superstar what went wrong.
According to Vindhu, Salman responded by saying that the director had also failed and suggested that blame games often begin when a film underperforms.
“I asked him what happened, and he replied, ‘He (AR Murugadoss) has failed too. When a film doesn’t work, this is how people start blaming others,’” Vindhu recalled.
“Salman is a very sensitive person”
Speaking about Salman’s personality, Vindhu described him as someone who may not openly express his emotions but deeply values the people around him.
“Salman is an extremely sensitive individual. He may not show it outwardly, but anyone who remembers people and their kindness the way he does is bound to be sensitive,” he added.
The remarks come amid ongoing discussions surrounding Sikandar and the factors that may have contributed to its disappointing box-office performance.
