Chand Mera Dil witnessed a 30 per cent hike on its second Saturday. It added Rs. 1.75 crore to the tally, bringing the second weekend’s cume to Rs. 3 crore in two days. It is looking to wind up its second weekend around the Rs. 5 crore mark, which will take its running cume to Rs. 23-24 crore nett at the Indian box office in 10 days.
The Lakshya and Ananya Panday starrer is looking to close its second week around Rs. 27-29 crore, and then it will face a couple of new releases, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Bandar, and Peddi, which can dent its business. The movie will have to hold very well in the third week in order to reach a respectable total by the end of its full run.
Small and mid-sized movies, especially in this genre, have suffered in the post-pandemic times. However, there were a few exceptions like Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which were big hits at the box office last year. Let’s see if Chand Mera Dil can surprise in the coming days.
