Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga continued its impressive theatrical run by registering a 20 per cent jump on its third Tuesday. The romantic drama collected an estimated Rs. 1.65 crore, taking its third-week total to Rs. 14 crore nett. At its current pace, the film is expected to wrap up the week with Rs. 17–19 crore nett, reflecting a strong hold in its third week.
The film’s total domestic collection now stands at Rs. 46.75 crore nett, and it is on course to cross the Rs. 50 crore mark during its fourth weekend. Following that, it will face fresh competition from Alpha, making its post-release trend an important factor in determining its overall theatrical run.
If the current momentum continues, Main Vaapas Aaunga has the potential to finish with Rs. 65–70 crore nett in India. However, sustaining collections over the next two weeks will be challenging, especially with major releases like Alpha and Dhamaal 4 entering the market.
The film’s overseas performance will also play a significant role. Despite receiving widespread appreciation, its international business has been affected by limited showcasing. Under better circumstances, the film could have aimed for a USD 4–5 million finish overseas, but even USD 3 million would now be considered a respectable result.
