The trend is good, but the problem is that it’s coming at a low level of business, which isn’t taking it anywhere. Still, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is going to go over Rs. 50 crore, which isn’t anything game-changing but somewhat face-saving after a dismal start. There is some amount of feeding there, so even that is to be taken with a sterisk.
For the unversed, the original film was a Clean Hit at the box office. The Kartik Aaryan starrer had a full run of Rs. 80 crore nett in India, which is now a tough mark to achieve for rom-coms releasing in the post-2020 era. Had this film been released in the pre-2020 era, it likely would have done much better at the box office.
