Main Vaapas Aaunga trailer released

Imtiaz Ali once again delivers a deeply emotional romantic drama that promises to resonate with audiences of all ages. The first trailer of Main Vaapas Aaunga presents a heartbreaking story of lovers separated during the 1947 India-Pakistan Partition, with one of them yearning to reunite nearly eight decades later.

The film features a stellar cast including Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari Wagh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah. Spanning just over three minutes, the trailer hints at an emotional journey packed with nostalgia, heartbreak, and hope.

Set against the backdrop of Partition-era India, the story unfolds across two timelines. It begins with an elderly man opening up about the pain of losing his childhood love during the chaos of 1947, wounds that remain fresh even after decades.

The narrative then shifts to the pre-Partition period, where Vedang Raina’s character falls in love with Sharvari Wagh’s lively and spirited young woman. However, the violence and displacement caused by Partition separate them forever. Years later, Naseeruddin Shah appears as the older version of Vedang’s character, still haunted by memories of his lost love.

In the present-day storyline, the elderly man shares his emotional burden with his grandson, played by Diljit Dosanjh, who promises to help him reconnect with his past and find closure. The trailer beautifully captures the bittersweet emotions tied to love, memory, and belonging.

Another standout element is the film’s music. Imtiaz Ali reunites with AR Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil, while Diljit Dosanjh lends his voice to the soundtrack. The moving background score adds even more emotional depth to the visuals.

Produced by Applause Entertainment, Birla Studios, and Window Seat Films, Main Vaapas Aaunga is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12, 2026.
