Once upon a time, fairytales were meant to be magical stories, but Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups turns that idea into something dark, intense, and twisted. The wait is finally over as August 26, 2026, marks the return of Rocking Star Yash to the big screen with the much-awaited gangster drama. Taking over the festive weekend from its very first show, the actor who helped put Kannada cinema on the global stage is back with another major theatrical outing.

Directed by National Award winner Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has generated massive buzz ahead of its release. The film reportedly crossed 1.5 million ticket sales across major booking platforms, including BookMyShow and District, even before its premiere shows concluded. The unprecedented demand also prompted leading theatre chains in cities such as Mumbai to add midnight and early-morning 6:00 AM shows, indicating the potential for a huge opening at the box office.

Moving away from conventional action storytelling, Toxic presents a dark and psychologically charged gangster drama set against the retro underworld of Goa. Fronted by Rocking Star Yash, the film boasts an impressive ensemble featuring Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi. With its striking visual treatment, ambitious scale, and distinctive take on the gangster genre, Toxic aims to deliver a larger-than-life cinematic experience.
