Malayalam film Vaazha 2 continues dream run, crosses ₹163 crore worldwide in 11 days
Malayalam film Vaazha 2, directed by Savin Sa, is maintaining a strong hold at the box office, delivering an impressive second weekend and taking its 11-day global total to ₹163.25 crore gross.
The film has been particularly dominant in Kerala, contributing around ₹80 crore to the total. Other Indian markets added ₹10.50 crore, pushing the domestic gross to ₹90.50 crore.
Internationally, the coming-of-age comedy-drama has also struck a chord, earning ₹72.75 crore (USD 7.8 million). The Middle East emerged as the biggest overseas market, accounting for nearly USD 5.8 million of the total.
Going by current trends, Vaazha 2 is expected to cross the ₹170 crore mark by the end of its second Monday.
The film has now become the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film worldwide and is set to surpass 2018 (₹175.50 crore) shortly. Its next milestone is the coveted ₹200 crore club.
A sequel to Vaazha: Biopic of a Billion Boys, the film is produced and written by Vipin Das. It stars Hashir, Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak in lead roles.
With strong word of mouth and sustained momentum, Vaazha 2 has firmly established itself as a blockbuster at the global box office.
