Telugu superstar Ram Charan is embracing fatherhood with a hands-on approach, even as he balances a demanding film career and family responsibilities. The actor-producer, who is a father to three children — daughter Kaara and newborn twins Shivram and Anveera Devi — recently shared insights into his parenting style.
Speaking about raising his kids with wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, Ram Charan revealed that he plays the role of a “rough” dad. “I’m the kind who lets them jump, play dirty, climb, and take risks,” he said, highlighting his belief in encouraging independence and resilience from an early age.
In contrast, he described Upasana as the emotional anchor of the family. Calling her the “nurturing pillar,” he added that while she provides care and stability, he is the one his children turn to when they need courage.
The actor shared that life at home now revolves entirely around his children, whom he fondly calls his “heartbeats outside my heart.” Their presence has transformed not just his daily routine but the entire household dynamic.
Despite his superstar status, Ram Charan emphasized the importance of being a present father. He and Upasana are intentionally raising their children in a grounded and unconventional environment, including opting for Montessori-style learning and encouraging curiosity through exploration.
Reflecting on fatherhood, the actor said he often learns from his children’s simple outlook on life. He also mentioned that he prefers to keep his personal world small and close-knit, considering his pets an integral part of his family.
For Ram Charan, beyond fame and success, being a devoted and present parent remains his top priority.
