Dhurandhar 2 Update: Aditya Dhar Focuses on Trailer, No Extra Shoot for Akshaye Khanna
Amid recent reports claiming that Akshaye Khanna was back on the sets of Dhurandhar 2 for additional scenes, Masala Buzz can exclusively confirm that the actor is not shooting any new material. While he remains an integral part of the highly anticipated sequel, his portions were completed during the film’s earlier schedules and appear in key flashback sequences.
A source clarified, “There is no additional filming happening with Akshaye Khanna at the moment. His scenes were wrapped earlier and are part of important flashback moments in the story,” putting all speculation to rest.
Meanwhile, the film has now moved into a crucial post-production phase. Director Aditya Dhar is currently focused on cutting the trailer, with the team aiming for a release by the end of February. “Aditya is working on the trailer edit. The goal is to deliver something impactful again,” an insider revealed.
At the same time, Shashwat Sachdev has begun work on the background score, with both sound and visuals being treated as top priorities. The team is leaving no stone unturned as they gear up for the March 19, 2026 theatrical release.
The hype surrounding Dhurandhar 2 is massive, thanks to the first film’s phenomenal success. Released on December 5, 2025, the Ranveer Singh starrer became a box-office juggernaut, posting record-breaking numbers and cementing its place among the biggest hits of the year. Expectations are now sky-high for the sequel.
