Aamir Khan’s 18 Kg Transformation: How His Anti-Inflammatory Diet Worked Without Exercise
Bollywood’s self-proclaimed “perfectionist,” Aamir Khan, is making headlines again—this time for a jaw-dropping physical transformation. Ahead of his 61st birthday this March, the actor has shed 18 kilograms, looking leaner and healthier than ever. And the best part? He achieved it without hours at the gym or intense cardio sessions.
In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, Aamir revealed that his weight loss was actually an unintended bonus of addressing a chronic health issue. “It happened by default,” he said. The actor’s main goal was to find relief from persistent migraines. “I undertook an anti-inflammatory diet for my headaches, and it worked like magic. Not only did I lose 18 kgs, but my migraines have reduced considerably.”
Aamir is part of a growing trend among celebrities shifting away from crash diets toward functional, health-focused eating. Stars like Vidya Balan have also credited anti-inflammatory diets for their transformations, achieving results without heavy exercise routines.
But how does a diet designed to reduce internal inflammation also lead to dramatic weight loss? Nutritionist Shikha Singh explains that chronic inflammation can silently sabotage weight management. Stress, poor sleep, excess sugar, processed foods, and alcohol can trigger the release of cytokines, chemicals that interfere with insulin and leptin—the hormones that regulate blood sugar and appetite. “When these hormones are disrupted, the body stores more fat, making weight loss harder,” she says.
Experts like Simrun Chopra, founder of Nourish with Sim, recommend starting with a pantry audit. Removing inflammatory “trigger” foods helps the body calm down, restore hormonal balance, and naturally shed extra weight—just like Aamir experienced.
In other words, this isn’t just a diet for looks—it’s about healing from within, boosting energy, and feeling lighter, healthier, and more in control of your body.
