Lock Upp 2 contestant Akanksha Chamola has responded to the criticism surrounding her comments about estranged husband Gaurav Khanna during her time on the reality show. Akanksha had previously revealed that she and Gaurav were heading for divorce, while her remarks about his appearance on the show later drew backlash online.

In an interview with Zoom, Akanksha explained why she did not consider Gaurav’s appearance on Lock Upp 2 an act of support. She said that since they were in the process of separating, she did not want her estranged husband to come into the show and support her without knowing his intentions.
According to Akanksha, Gaurav was there primarily to “clear his name” rather than to support her during her journey on the reality show. She also pointed out that his visit did not provide her with any information that would have made her feel she was performing well in the game.
The actress further questioned why social media users focused only on one aspect of her comments while overlooking the larger point she was making. She accused trolls of selectively moral-policing her and argued that if her statements were being scrutinised, the entire context should be considered.
Akanksha maintained that she is willing to apologise if she is genuinely wrong but wants people to explain why her comments were considered inappropriate rather than judging her selectively.
