Peddi, starring Ram Charan, is all set to hit theatres on June 4, 2026. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports action drama is being described as an emotionally powerful film by production designer Avinash Kolla.
Avinash Kolla praises Ram Charan’s performance in Peddi
In a tweet shared by Vamsi Shekar, Avinash Kolla opened up about the emotional depth of Peddi and praised Ram Charan’s performance in the movie.
According to Kolla, Peddi is a unique cinematic experience that will leave audiences emotional by the time they step out of theatres. He said viewers would become deeply attached to Peddi’s journey and emotionally travel alongside the character throughout the film.
Kolla also referenced comments reportedly made by filmmaker Sukumar, who stated that Ram Charan’s performance in Peddi could surpass his acclaimed work in Rangasthalam. He attributed this to the film’s emotionally strong and impactful storyline.

Peddi is reportedly centered around a cricket tournament set in a rural backdrop. Along with Ram Charan in the lead role, the film features an ensemble cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the movie is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru and Ishan Saksena under the banners of Vriddhi Cinema and IVY Entertainment.
The film was initially slated for release on March 27, 2026, before being postponed first to April 30 and later officially rescheduled for June 4, 2026. The makers have also confirmed that premiere shows will take place on June 3, 2026.
Recently, the team revealed that the movie has entered its final stages of production. A song sequence is currently being filmed as part of the final schedule, with reports suggesting that Shruti Haasan will make a special cameo appearance. Earlier rumors had hinted at Mrunal Thakur featuring in the dance number, but the makers now appear to have finalized Shruti for the role.
The production team also shared an update featuring director Buchi Babu Sana, confirming that the film’s final edit has already been locked.
Ram Charan’s upcoming project
Following Peddi, Ram Charan is expected to reunite with filmmaker Sukumar for a new project tentatively titled RC17. Although an official announcement is still awaited, industry buzz suggests the film could be launched sometime in May or June 2026.
