Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, failed to impress the audience at the box office. The movie recorded a dull box office run and never showed any sort of growth throughout its journey. Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the romantic drama collected around Rs. 4 crore nett so far by the end of its 10 days of theatrical run.
The movie has no fuel left from here on. Still, it is expected to add a couple of lakhs more to the tally before leaving the cinemas. That said, Ek Din will wrap its entire run in the vicinity of Rs. 4 crore to Rs. 4.50 crore nett at the Indian box office. With such a poor run, the Junaid Khan starrer turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
The Sunil Panday directorial couldn’t even match the box office run of Junaid Khan’s first film, Loveyapa, which was itself a box office dud. In fact, Ek Din will remain around 50 per cent of what Loveyapa collected at the Indian box office. The movie struggled as it met with average to poor word-of-mouth among the audience, besides a low-key buzz and a remake factor.
Had the movie received a favourable reception, things would have been a bit better. All eyes are now on Junaid Khan’s next venture, Ragini 3 and Sai Pallavi’s Ramayana. Let’s see whether or not the Ek Din’s lead pair can impress the audience with their respective next releases.
