This week’s Predicts is a relatively quiet one, with no major new releases making a strong entry. The only fresh arrival is Aakhiri Sawal, and expectations for it are very low right from the start. At the same time, this also serves as the final box office update for Bhooth Bangla.
Aakhiri Sawal (08/05/2026)
Aakhiri Sawal is gearing up for a mid-May release, but the buzz around it remains minimal. Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang and led by Sanjay Dutt, the political drama also features Namashi Chakraborty, Tridha Chaudhary, Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy, and others.
Despite the cast, early tracking suggests a very weak opening. The film is being positioned as a non-opener, with first-day expectations hovering in the range of ₹0–50 lakh. At this stage, the film’s performance will depend almost entirely on word of mouth after release rather than any pre-release hype or advance buzz.
Bhooth Bangla – Final Update
Meanwhile, the focus is also on the final pre-release numbers for Bhooth Bangla. The film is expected to hold up reasonably well at the box office, though it may struggle to dip into single-digit territory on its opening day.
Early shows beginning from 9 PM on Thursday (April 16) may come too late to significantly shift the opening day momentum, but they still add a small boost. Based on current trends, there isn’t much upside left compared to earlier estimates.
Advance bookings, however, show a decent level of interest, which could help the film land in the mid-teens.
Day 1 Outlook
Paid previews: ₹2–3 crore
Friday (opening day): ₹10–13 crore
Total Day 1 estimate: ₹12–16 crore nett
Overall, Bhooth Bangla looks set for a stable but not explosive start, with performance likely depending on how audiences respond over the weekend.
