Bollywood’s hit horror-comedy franchise is gearing up for another chapter. After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, Kartik Aaryan and producer Bhushan Kumar are set to reunite for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4. Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that the much-awaited sequel is currently being developed and is expected to go on floors in the second half of 2027.
According to a source close to the development, the writing process is underway, with the creative team exploring multiple ideas to take the franchise forward. “The script is currently in development, and the team is working on various concepts. The plan is to begin filming in the latter half of 2027,” the source revealed.
The insider further shared that Kartik Aaryan will reprise his popular character, Rooh Baba, while Bhushan Kumar will once again produce the film. The immediate focus is on finalising a compelling screenplay before moving ahead with the next phase of production.
“The makers intend to lock the screenplay over the coming months before taking the film on floors in the second half of 2027. They want to ensure the script is solid before appointing the director,” the source added.
While the film’s director and the rest of the cast are yet to be finalised, discussions are reportedly underway internally regarding who will helm the fourth instalment.
The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise has emerged as one of Bollywood’s most successful horror-comedy series, with Kartik Aaryan’s portrayal of Rooh Baba becoming immensely popular among audiences. Naturally, expectations for the fourth film are already soaring.
If everything proceeds as planned, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 will commence production in the latter half of 2027, with an official announcement expected once the screenplay is locked and the director is finalised.
