Chand Mera Dil, directed by Vivek Soni and starring Lakshya alongside Ananya Panday, is gearing up for its theatrical release this weekend. The film opened its advance booking today, and the early response appears encouraging.
As of 11:45 PM on May 19, the romantic drama had sold nearly 3,500 tickets across the top national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for its opening day. The initial momentum is considered positive. Interestingly, the film is currently trending better than Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. With two more days remaining before release, Chand Mera Dil is expected to close its advance sales at around 25,000 tickets.
One of the major factors boosting ticket sales is the film’s pricing strategy. The makers have introduced comparatively affordable ticket rates for opening day. Shows scheduled before 5 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, are priced at Rs. 149, while evening and night shows after 5 PM are available for Rs. 199.
The pricing move could prove beneficial in attracting audiences to theatres, especially for a relatively mid-budget romantic film. Going by the current booking trends and pre-sales, Chand Mera Dil is expected to open in the range of Rs. 4 crore at the box office, which would be a respectable start considering the film’s scale and budget.
Ultimately, the long-term box office performance will largely depend on audience reception and word-of-mouth. If the reviews and public response turn positive, the film could position itself well for a successful theatrical run.
