Ohh My Dog Box Office Day 1: Pankaj Tripathi Film Earns Rs 85 Lakh on Opening Day

by masalabuzz

Ohh My Dog opened its theatrical run with an estimated Rs. 70-75 lakh on Friday. Including the Rs. 10 lakh earned through Thursday previews, the Pankaj Tripathi starrer has recorded an opening-day collection of around Rs. 85 lakh.

The film will now look to gain momentum over the weekend and could finish its first three days with collections in the range of Rs. 2-3 crore.

Directed by Amit Rai, who previously helmed OMG 2, Ohh My Dog has received a favourable response from audiences. However, the family drama is aimed at a relatively niche section of moviegoers, which limits its potential to deliver a major theatrical run.

Despite being mounted on a respectable budget, the film is unlikely to emerge as a major box-office success. Its performance during the weekdays will be particularly important in determining its overall theatrical run. Based on the current trend, Ohh My Dog is expected to finish its India theatrical run with around Rs. 5-10 crore nett.
